Aerosmith

Aerosmith is an American hard rock band, sometimes called "bad boys of Boston." His style, which has roots in the blues-based hard rock, has come to also incorporate elements of pop, heavy metal, and rhythm and blues, and has inspired many subsequent rock artists. The band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970. Guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton, originally belonged to a band called Jam Band, then joined the singer Steven Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Ray Tabano, and formed Aerosmith. In 1971, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford, and was at the time that the band became known in Boston.

The band signed a contract with Columbia Records in 1972 and launched a series of albums that have been certified multi-platinum, beginning with his debut album. In 1975, the band was consolidated with the album Toys in the Attic, and Rocks on their next album in 1976, cemented his status as hard rock superstars. By the late 1970's, was one of the most popular bands of hard rock around the world and had won a large following, which is often called "Blue Army". However, drug addiction and internal conflict were felt in the band led to the departure of Perry and Whitford in 1979 and 1981, respectively. Were replaced by Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay. The band failed between 1980 and 1984, releasing only one album, Rock in a Hard Place, which went gold, but not up to its past successes.

Although Perry and Whitford returned in 1984 and the band had signed a recording contract with Geffen Records, it was not until the launch in 1987 the album Permanent Vacation in which the band regained the level of popularity they had experienced in the early 1970. Throughout 1980 and 1990, The band scored several hits and won numerous music awards with albums Pump (1989), Get a Grip (1993), and Nine Lives (1997). His return has been described as one of the most important and spectacular in the history of rock and roll. After 40 years of giving concerts, the band continues to tour and record music.

American rock band Aerosmith is the greatest number of sales of all time, selling more than 150 million albums worldwide, including 66.5 million albums in the United Unidos.También only have the record for being the U.S. group with the highest number of gold and platinum discs. The band has achieved 21 entries in the Top 40 of Billboard Hot 100, nine number one on the Mainstream Rock Tracks, four Grammy awards, and ten MTV Video Music Awards. Were included in the Hall of Fame Rock in 2001, and 2005 were ranked No. 57 in the top 100 greatest artists of all time of Rolling Stone.

Hamilton and Perry moved to Boston, Massachusetts, in September 1969. There they met Joey Kramer, a drummer from Yonkers, New York. He was an acquaintance of Steven Tyler, and both wanted to play in a band. Karma, a student at Berklee College of Music, he decided to leave school to join the band. In October 1970, met again with Steven Tyler, who had been the drummer and backup singer, but adamantly refused to play the drums in this band, insisting that only join if he could be the lead singer. The other members agreed, and was born and Aersomith. The band took the name Aerosmith, which was suggested by Joey Kramer, after rejecting other names like The Hookers and Spike Jones. Aerosmith played its first concert in Mendon, Massachusetts, at the Nipmuc Regional High School in 1970.

band members used to sit every evening to watch replays of the Three Stooges. One day, after seeing one of these repetitions, the band met to try to reach to a name. Kramer volunteered the name Aerosmith, a word that always wrote in all their notebooks while attending school. The name had appeared on his head after listening to the album of Harry Nilsson Aerial Ballet, which was a tribute to the aerial circus act that made Nilsson's grandparents, jumping through a biplane. Initially the band mates were baffled Kramer to know this, because everyone thought he was referring to Sinclair Lewis's novel Arrowsmith, which were forced to read in English class in high school. "No, not Arrowsmith," Kramer said. "Aerosmith AERO ...." The band invited

Ray Tabano, a childhood friend of Tyler, guitar, and started playing in local halls. In 1971, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford, who also attended the Berklee School of Music and had belonged to the band Earth Inc. Brad Whitford, being from Reading, Massachusetts, had played in the AW Coolidge Middle School Reading. Except for a period from July 1979 to April 1984, including training by Tyler, Perry, Hamilton, Kramer, and Whitford has stayed the same.

recording contract, Aerosmith, Get Your Wings, and Toys in the Attic (1971-1975)

Following the disclosure in nightclubs in Boston in 1973 presented their first LP simply titled Aerosmith (1973), produced by Adrian Barber containing songs like "Dream On", "Mama Kin", "One Way Street" and "Walkin 'The Dog." His live performances opening for bands like the Kinks and Mott the Hoople were placing his name among rock aficionados.

In 1974 they released their second album great, Get Your Wings, which included songs like "Train Kept a Rollin '," "Lord of the Thighs", "Same Old Song and Dance" or "Seasons Of Wither." This work, which was a commercial breakthrough with respect to its first delivery, was the first time with the work of producer Jack Douglas and engineer Jay Messina sound. His arrival at musical stardom would determined by the publication of Toys In The Attic (1975), considered one of the best albums in the history of rock music [citation needed], becoming diamond disc, marked by his hit "Walk this Way" and songs like "Sweet Emotion" "Toys in the Attic" or "Uncle Salty." This rise in his star status led to the reprinting of his first single, the ballad "Dream On", which managed to get into the best-selling singles of the era. Uploaded on the bandwagon of fame and in a moment of inspiration, presented another album, Rocks (1976), again with producer Jack Douglas, which contained hits like "Back in the Saddle", "Last Child" "Combination", "Rats in the Cellar" and "Sick as a Dog."

subsequent discs failed to satisfy fan expectations, mainly due to addiction to drugs and alcohol, and disputes by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Because of this and because of the brawls between the two leaders of the group's later works were not as accomplished.

The Dark Age
The group went through a dark period because of drugs, alcohol and discussions between some of its components. The latter led to the departure of guitarist Joe Perry first and later by Brad Whitford. Joe Perry only lost his musical talent but also the creative source, as it was co-author of a wide range of topics. Joe formed "The Joe Perry Project", band that released 3 LP: "Let The Music Do The Talking", "Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker" and "I've Got The Rock & Rolls Again."

Brad Whitford joined Ted Nugent guitarist Derek St. Holmes, which released the album "Whitford / St. Holmes."

Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay came to fill the void left guitar in the band, and in 1982 they release a new album, "Rock In A Hard Place", which did not sell too many copies, despite receiving some criticism positive. Later Brad joins the Joe Perry Project and played together in several live shows. Valentine's Day 1984, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford visited their former fellow Aerosmith backstage and achieve a reconciliation (in part thanks to their wives), meeting again with the band and starting the "Back in the Saddle Tour. "

successful reunion with
The original lineup regrouped in 1984 and signed with the record company Geffen, but his album back, "Done With Mirrors", 1985, was met with criticism for its lack of inspiration. The following year, Tyler and Perry obtained the approval of Street, which it needed, involving high profile in the revisited "Walk this Way" with rappers Run-DMC.

Thereafter, Aerosmith was gradually reunited with commercial success, it was the hand of an artistic rebirth, as far as creativity is concerned. Albums like "Permanent Vacation" and "Pump" again placed in prominent positions in the charts.

But the real round began with the trade name "Permanent Vacation", where the producer Bruce Fairbairn became the group's sound to something more simple without losing its essential attitude. Having become promoteres of sobriety after rehab of substance abuse and learned and adapted to a new social attitude, the band appeared again and again on MTV with hits like "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)", "Angel" and "Rag Doll."

"Pump", 1989, raised expectations, leaving a quartet of outstanding success as the pro-feminist and Grammy-winning "Janie's Got a Gun." One of his big concerts have given us that story was the Monsters Of Rock 1990 in Donnington with legendary bands like Poison, Quireboys, Thunder and Whitesnake in front of 200,000 spectators. Get a Grip

, 1993, completed the resounding commercial success that Aerosmith launched in collaboration with "Fairburn" and a multitude of stellar writers. The hits include "Livin 'On the Edge" and Crazy which inspired the notorious videos that made MTV stars Alicia Silverstone and actress / model daughter of Steve, Liv Tyler. In 1994 world tour makes a Get a Grip tour in which he meets Poison on certain dates.

In 1991, Aerosmith was so popular they could afford to sign a lucrative contract with his original record company, Columbia, though they owed it to Geffen albums. They ended up giving three more albums with the record company, including "Get a Grip", a collection of his greatest hits, "Big Ones" and double live set "A Little South Of Sanity ". It is said that in 1994, the band also won a millionaire as an advance for his autobiography" Walk This Way ", written with Stephen Davis and published three years later. They did not get to launch their debut album with Columbia until 1997 with "Nine Lives". That point was further evidenced by the success of "I Do not Want to Miss a Thing" was nominated for an Oscar and made for the movie "Armageddon".

later the band released "Just Push Play "(2001), several compilations of greatest hits and in 2004" Honkin 'On Bobo ", which is a compilation of covers of blues plus an original track from the band (" The Grind ").

Joe Perry released in early 2005 a solo album entitled "Joe Perry", with topics and material that had been preparing since 1997. This theme served to Perry was nominated for a Grammy for the song "Mercy." Also in 2005, the Boston band returns to the raft with a new live album, entitled "Rockin 'The Joint", recorded at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, prior to release blues album "Honkin' On Bobo "in 2004, so that does not include any songs from it.

In 2007 the band embarked on a world tour that took them for the first time in 13 years to Latin America, also visiting Europe and India.

On June 29, 2008 was released the game "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith", which lets you play over 25 songs of the band, available for Play Station 2 consoles, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

have a special participation in the chapter of the third season of the animated series The Simpsons: Flaming Moe's, singing the song "Walk this Way and Young Lust. They are also mentioned in another chapter when Bart takes a box of cereal called "Sweet Emotions" and asks "Aerosmith has a cereal?" (Season 11, chapter 10).

In 2009, Steven Tyler, in a recital fell and problems at the knee and foot. From that concert, Aerosmith and Joe Perry stands said in his Twiter the band seek replacement, including the singer's name rang the rock band 80's Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Mark Slaughter. Tyler's lawyer, would agree to a trial if Aerosmith seek a replacement for the eccentric singer. Skip Miller, Tyler's attorney, said by letter to the manager of the band, leave immediately and to desist from acts and conduct have to damage and against his own client, Aerosmith, and our client is one of its members. Also he said: Can you imagine the Rolling Stones manager looking for a replacement for Mick Jagger? It is absurd ... Aerosmith's Steven.

Then bands like The Doors, Black Sabbath, ACDC, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple took the concept a little further and creative Americans became heirs. Recipients of this musical evolution were Aerosmith, with a sound and attitude that fell somewhere between the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Were a reflection of what was happening in the UK scene at the time. Tyler said, "You gotta fake it 'till you make it" (translated: "you have to fake it until you do.")
